Black Dog was inspired by conversations with Belgium Dj and Producer Pole Folder in early 2008 with a view to collaborate for his Helsinki Project release.

From the vocal and melodic ideas given to Pole Folder, lola demo set about making them into complete songs, when it seemed evident that the Helsinki Project was not going to eventuate.

Pole Folder has released a version of Dimension Missing using some ideas from the track featured on this album, and Sasha did a remix of Pole Folder version of I Hate Myself.

I'd like to thank Pole folder for his dark inspiration and although I could never compete with production from my small set up on Ithaca, I was happy with the way these songs turned out.

Black Dog was written and recorded in Stavros Ithaca Greece at Strudel Girl Studio between March 2009 and March 2010.

Setup: Cubase SX5, Ensonique Mirage Sampler, Reason 4, Berdux Upright Piano, Epiphone Guitar with Edirol souncard on PC and WinXP and Roland monitors, tiled floor, sheep and goat noises outside the window and jack hammers echoing across the valley.
